Here are the answers to some of the questions we get asked:
Q How long before we get the digital images?
A It normally takes 4 to 5 weeks to prepare the images.
Q Why does it take so long to deliver the digital images?
A We come back from each wedding with at least 1000 images. We then edit these down to the 400-500 or so images that we will use. Each of these images is then inspected and adjusted for colour balance and exposure, and further edits such as cropping are then applied. As you can imagine, this is quite time consuming and we put this amount of effort into the editing in order to deliver the very best product to you.
Q Why don't you give us all the pictures that you took on the day?
A Although we end up with well over 1000 images on the memory cards, these are not all pictures that you would ever want to see. Some are test shots to check the lighting or exposure; some are discarded because, for example, the bride blinked. In some fast-moving situations, such as a bouquet toss, we might be shooting at 10 frames per second to capture the best split second. That's the shot we use; you really don't want to see the rest! Please don't ever think that you are "missing out" on any images. We will deliver the full story of your day.
Q What will you, the photographer(s), wear?
A It's a long day for us, 12 to 14 hours, and the only real chance we get for a rest is during the wedding breakfast. So we need to stay comfortable, especially in hot weather, so our dress code is "smart casual", in dark colours to remain inconspicuous, and "sensible shoes". We'd prefer not to wear ties unless you specifically ask us to.
Q Do you want us to provide any food for you?
A We would very much appreciate a sandwich platter or similar; as we said above, it's a long day!
Q Can I make my own prints from the digital files?
A Yes, indeed. The image files come with an unrestricted personal licence. The only thing you can't do is sell the images on to another party.
